AN INVITATION

Who is authoring who you are?

A brief exploration of Sovereign Authenticity.

THE VISIBLE SELF

We spend much of our lives answering questions for others.

What do you do?

What have you accomplished?

What do you believe?

What are you building?

What will you leave behind?

BENEATH THEM ALL

Who are you?

SOVEREIGNTY

Who has the authority to answer?

Family? Culture? Religion? Markets? Institutions? Algorithms? Artificial intelligence?

Or you?

AUTHENTICITY

Sovereignty gives us the authority to author.

Authenticity asks whether what we author is true.

Is the person the world encounters coherent with the person within?

AN ANCIENT INQUIRY

Humanity has been asking these questions for millennia.

Who am I?

What is real?

What is mine to become?

How should I live?

Philosophy asked.

Spiritual traditions asked.

Mystics asked.

Psychology asked.

Science continues asking.

AND NOW

We have created something that is beginning to answer questions about us.

Artificial Intelligence.

AN ANCIENT QUESTION. A NEW CONDITION.

If machines increasingly interpret who we are, how do we remain the authors of who we are?

THE PRINCIPLE

Sovereign Authenticity

The capacity to know, own, express and steward who we authentically are.

COHERENCE

What happens when the inner and outer story become one?

1

IDENTITY

AUTHENTICITY

COHERENCE

STEWARDSHIP

7

CONTINUITY

THE CONSEQUENCE

Identity does not remain an interior matter.

We create families.

We create enterprises.

We create institutions.

We create technologies.

We create legacies.

What begins within eventually takes form in the world.

STEWARDSHIP

And whatever takes form eventually becomes ours to care for.

Wealth. Relationships. Institutions. Reputation. Knowledge. Opportunity. Responsibility. The future we hand to others.

FROM THE HUMAN BEING TO THE INSTITUTION

The same questions return.

WHO

Who are you?

WHAT

What are you?

WHY

Why do you exist?

HOW

How do you act?

WHERE

Where is the evidence?

WHEN

What survives over time?

ONE CONTINUING ARCHITECTURE
01

Sovereign Authenticity

The human principle.

02

Stewardship

What becomes ours to care for.

03

Sovereign Identity

The authority to define ourselves.

04

Source of Truth

What we establish as authoritative.

05

FORMEXâ„¢

Whether what has been formed can withstand examination.

06

Institutional Underwritingâ„¢

The discipline of examining it.

07

Readiness

Whether it is prepared for what comes next.

WHY THIS INQUIRY?

I have spent much of my life moving between worlds rarely placed in the same conversation.

Business and metaphysics.

Capital and consciousness.

Technology and spirituality.

Institutional formation and personal transformation.

Wealth and stewardship.

Artificial intelligence and human sovereignty.

I once thought these were different interests.

Increasingly, I see them as different expressions of the same inquiry.

THE CONTINUING QUESTION

What does it mean to know what is true, become coherent with it, and faithfully steward what follows?

— Greg C. Johnson

AN EMERGING BODY OF THOUGHT

The Tao of Sovereign Authenticity

Not a doctrine.

Not a religion.

Not an attempt to force science and spirituality into one explanation.

An exploration.

THE INQUIRY CONTINUES

Different subjects. One continuing inquiry.

Self & Consciousness

Identity, consciousness, belief, intention, meaning and Source.

Stewardship & Legacy

Wealth, relationships, responsibility, continuity and what we leave behind.

Institutions & FORMEXâ„¢

Identity, evidence, governance, Source of Truth and institutional coherence.

AI & the Human Future

Human authorship and agency in an increasingly machine-mediated world.

NOT ONLY IDEAS

Sometimes the clearest expression of a principle is a life being lived.

Insights will include essays, conversations, interviews and profiles of people and organizations whose choices illuminate something worth seeing.

THE PURPOSE

The objective is not agreement.

It is deeper seeing.

AN INVITATION

Are we becoming more authentically the authors of our lives— or surrendering that authorship to something else?

BUILD WHAT IS TRUE

Clarify it.
Live it.
Steward it.
Give it form.

And, they will come.
